When I was working, I was getting a lot of exercise. For 40 years, I exercised, and then, stopped the over kill of exercise, and just puttered around the place. Slowly, my bodies circulation slowed up, going from one extreme to another. So, what I got out of it, was High colesterol, and High blood preasure. Doctors, and their drugs, was a bad experience, so I went to herbs, and they were no doing too bad, but not good enough, by them selves. Exercise, they say, is the way to go. We started walking for a couple of weeks, but did not get fast enough benifit from it, and in the fall, it could rain, for days, and days. So I bought us an exercise machine, called, body rider. When we started working with the machine, we thought we were going to die. It was a killer. After a few days, of working with it, we new we would live, and not be in the hostpital too long. Bottom line, it is working out well, and can see that exercise, is necesary, to keep one’s body working. |

Boy, do I agree with you. For women especially once you pass the menopause, the metabolism slows down. Now, I swear to god just eating the occasional cookie puts an extra pound on me that day. Since I work in a hospital I guess I’ve been extra conscious about health stuff, so I decided I had to lose about 10 pounds, especially this pillow where my flat tummy used to be. Plus I worry about osteoporosis since it runs in my family. Plus my Mom had adult onset diabetes and died of a stroke. So what I do at work is climb stairs. I go in the elevator down to the bottom floor in my building and climb back up 7 flights about 3-4 times a day during the week and use a stairstepper at home on weekends (I found it takes up less space than a health rider and I have a tiny house.) Then I just joined a gym for women where I do circuit training about 3-4 days a week for half an hour. But on top of that, I’m having to limit my calories to 1200 a day till I lose that weight. It’s really hard. I hate it, but I want to live a long healthy life. So hang in there, you guys. We deserve to feel good.
