We are having quite a shake up in our province. The government is down sizing government departments. They feel there are to many bodies for the amount of work thats getting done. Every department is getting a persentage cut of from 20% to 50% of people, to the over all, about 11, 500 people. When this government was elected, their platform was to down size goverment, and they are. The whining that is going on is unreal. I don’t blame them, after all, they lost their cushy job. But on the other hand, if something is not done, this province is going to go belly up. The government before this was continually making more debt, it’s got to be fixed. While feel for those losing their jobs, something has to be done.

This is happening everywhere I think. Over here the same thing is happening and they are selling all the government places to private people, then we pay more for everything. I live in a Housing Community unit for older people, and they said the other day they were trying to sell off the Housing Commision. There is an election on in Adelaide, so it will all depend who gets in. That’s Life today, I guess. Cheers marj

Yeah well, they were looking for a job when they found the one they are now losing… They’ll find another job.
I am all for down sizing Govt. Ours here in the states needs a lot of fat cut off of it.
