  • Snowtears had a picture of an old sliegh with horses, which they used to get around with in the winter. I remember riding in one, when i was a kid. It was open, with seats for six people. We had blanket, and as the horses run along, we got little chuncks of snow in the face. It was colder than hell, and I was glad when the wounderfull ride was done. This happened in saskatchewan, canada, a place where I rather not live, or go there. We did go back for a funeral, one time. Wife’s uncle died, and she wanted to go. When she made her mind up on something, so we went. The country is flat, the roads are long, And the weather in winter is something else. No wonder the body was stiff. We were treated very good while there. Going home was ugly, with wind and snow, and white outs, and -30c, I was glad to get home to nice British columbia. The sliegh was called a cutter.

  • And all this time I’ve thought riding in a sleigh would be a fun thing.    Not sure I’d like snow cunks in the face.

  • BURRRR!! Made me cold just reading this

  • ewww those cold alberta days I do not miss them

  • I find it hard to think that people can live in such low temperatures. Yes I have heard that British Columbia is the best State. We nearly emigrated to Calgary, glad now we didn’t as I guess it get cold there as well. Sounds sort of cute though riding in a sleigh. Never had that pleasure. Cheers Portia
