Someone mentioned Vegas in their blog.

Reminded me of our trip kind of through it . We were to meet the wifes brother at his place, in southern calif, and go fishing in Utah. Going in the motor home, we had a good trip down there, staying at some good sites. We spent a couple of days on the curb, waiting for them to get ready. (You know what slow is?) Then we’re off, three cars, and a motor home across the desert. Stopped at a rest stop for a few winks, with the diesels purring in the background. Next day we hit Vegas. Quick lunch, that was it? Me with my nickel still in my pocket. (Not a gambler anyway) Up into Utah, beautiful scenery. Stopping at  a brand x site. These guys were sleeping in tents, and cars. Finally got to the fishing lake, (water in a field) After three days we realized , all we were doing is sitting the kids, and left them. Went through salt lake. (Walked in the lake, which  was, at our site. Went on up through Idaho, We liked eastern wash. Good campsites. At soap lake wash. We had trout dinner, looked like salmon steaks. They say , the trout run around 15 lb. On to home. Glad to be back.

  • I don’t think either of us will ever forget this trip. Yes it certainely put us off doing something like this again, but you are right, the traveling down to Ca. and then home again was truly enjoyable.
